Tom and I first met with Katie and Gabe at a Starbucks to discuss their upcoming engagement shoot; they had won a complimentary Milestone Imaging Engagement Session at the Rocky Mountain Bridal Show. Katie's personality was funny and animated (we think she should become a stand up comedienne!) whereas Gabe's was calm and collected. They were very different but it was obvious that they absolutely adored and complimented each other perfectly.
We did their engagement photography session at Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison. We couldn't help but notice Katie's bright green car and her Kermit the Frog backpack (more evidence of her wonderful yet quirky personality). After having a great shoot, we hiked back down to the Dinosaur Museum where we parked, only to find the museum parking lot closed and gated... with our cars locked in! After a few brief moments of panic, we found notes on our windshields telling us the gate was not actually locked. That became the joke for all of our meetings that followed.
Fast forward to their October 21, 2016 wedding at The Barn at Raccoon Creek, in Littleton, Colorado. We had the best Colorado fall weather imaginable. As soon at I met Katie's family, I could see where she got her amazing wit and sense of humor! Katie and Gabe's families and friends were warm and welcoming and we had such a great time with this wonderful group of people! See for yourself in the photos below!
For brides considering The Barn at Raccoon Creek for their wedding venue, we highly recommend it. It has a spacious beautifully decorated bridal suite with amazing light, a gorgeous outdoor ceremony site surrounded by the green grass of the golf course and huge trees. There is also a "signature" hole on the golf course for creative portraits of the bride and groom, and a rustic barn which opens to a beautiful patio area for indoor/outdoor receptions. We'd like to give a shout out to DJ Connection; as always, they did an amazing job and we always love working with them. Officiant was Lin Cressey, of Colorado Ceremonies and Celebrations, who was wonderful! ~ Lucy
